Spartanburg County’s Citizens’ Academy

Thanks to a Daughter for passing this on ~ I know a few Daughters (and League of Women Voters members) have raved about this, in case you're interested in learning more about how our County government works.

"Via Ann Brunson of Spartanburg County, the Citizens' Academy is taking applications, due August 6. Fill out/print the application on the county's website: http://www.spartanburgcounty.org/. Some League members have participated in the Academy in the past, and they highly recommend it."

Here's a link to the informational flyer and to the application. From the flyer:

Spartanburg County’s Citizens’ Academy (SCCA) is a learning forum intended to provide participants with insight on how County government works; open lines of communication between citizens and County staff; provide information on how citizens can easily utilize the services offered by County Government; and provide a realistic understanding of County Government operations.

The Academy meets on Tuesdays for 8 weeks, from mid-September to November.
