Finding Happiness in the Hub City:
The Importance of Social & Community Connections

Pursuing happiness? It’s been in Spartanburg all along! Join us as we partner with Hub-Bub in hosting Dr. Abraham Goldberg as he discusses how people are happier when they are socially connected to others in their community and how communities can take proactive measures to encourage these types of relationships to flourish.

Abraham Goldberg is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at USC Upstate. His research on the impact of land-use and community planning on residential quality of life has recently been accepted for publication in the Journal of Urbanism and has been presented at several national and international conferences. His graduate work was completed at West Virginia University. Dr. Goldberg hopes that his research can be used to empower communities to develop into happier and healthier places to live. He lives with his wife Roni, and new baby boy Leo.

Chalk Talk is a series of community conversations with local educators discussing a variety of community topics.
